System requirements
The software DXPR Builder needs on the server and in the browser,
taken from dxpr_builder.info.yml, the module's code and its build
settings.
Drupal version
DXPR Builder 3.x requires Drupal 10.1 or later, including
Drupal 11 (core_version_requirement: ^10.1 || ^11).
PHP version
PHP 8.1 or later, the minimum of Drupal 10.1. Drupal 11 itself needs PHP 8.3. The module's own CI runs on PHP 8.3.
Web server and database
Any web server and database your Drupal version supports. The module uses only Drupal's database API, and its Drush tests run on SQLite.
Browser support
The editor's JavaScript and CSS are built for the last two versions
of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari and Opera. The same goes for the
mobile browsers Chrome for Android, Firefox for Android, iOS Safari
and Samsung Internet (browserslist in package.json).
The editor also runs on phones and tablets. It treats a mobile browser, or a touch screen up to 1024 pixels wide, as mobile and switches to its mobile controls.
Required modules
| Module | Why |
|---|---|
| Field, Field UI, Views, Image, Block (Drupal core) | Fields and displays the builder attaches to, blocks and views it embeds, image styles |
Key (key:key) |
Stores the DXPR product key as a Key entity |
Optional modules
| Module | Adds |
|---|---|
AI (ai:ai) |
AI features. They stay off until a default chat provider is set in the AI module's settings |
AI Provider DXPR (ai_provider_dxpr:ai_provider_dxpr) |
The DXAI Kavya models as AI provider; needs its API key and AI credits on your DXPR account |
RL (rl:rl) |
Runs A/B tests on element variants and smart sort experiments on views |
| Media Library (Drupal core) | The recommended image browser |
| Layout Builder (Drupal core) | Builder content inside Layout Builder blocks |
| CKEditor 5 (Drupal core) | Not needed for text editing: the builder ships its own CKEditor 5 build. When enabled, the builder uses its language mapping to pick CKEditor's interface translation; otherwise a built-in mapping is used |
Submodules
| Submodule | Purpose |
|---|---|
DXPR Builder Drag and Drop Page (dxpr_builder_page) |
A Drag and Drop Page content type with the builder on its body |
DXPR Builder Block Type (dxpr_builder_block) |
A Drag and Drop Block block type with the builder on its body |
DXPR Builder Media (dxpr_builder_media) |
Legacy Entity Browser image picker; hidden from the Extend page |
See Submodules.
Performance notes
- The editor's own files load from DXPR's CDN unless the module holds a local build; see the Editor Assets section at DXPR Studio > DXPR Builder > General Settings.
- Anonymous visitors get cacheable output. For logged-in users the builder field is not cached, because it carries per-user settings, so keep Drupal's page cache and dynamic page cache on.
