Changelog

This page summarises what changes in each DXPR Builder release. Full release notes for every tag live on the GitHub releases page and the drupal.org releases page.

Versions and dates come from the git tags.

3.x

The 3.x series is the current development line and has no stable release yet. Alphas run from 3.0.0-alpha1 (2024-01-15) to 3.0.0-alpha89 (2026-05-15); betas start with 3.0.0-beta1 (2026-03-30). The latest pre-release is 3.0.0-beta20. From 3.0.0-beta15, DXPR Builder requires Drupal 10.1 or 11.

Next release

  • Updates the bundled Font Awesome Free icons from 6.7.2 to 7.3.1: redrawn icons, 103 new icons and one removed icon. See Font Awesome 7 in DXPR Builder for before and after images and what to check on your site.
  • Runs content migrations in batches only, listed on a new Migrations page, and drops the Glazed class rewrite.
  • Lets each editor choose where control bars appear, under Editor settings.
  • Speeds up scrolling and loading on long pages.
  • Fixes the Local video Muted setting. Videos saved with autoplay off were always muted; they play with sound once their page is saved again, unless Muted is on.
  • Styles the Panel Type options on Bootstrap 5.
  • Stops a Collapse panel's control bar covering its top question's bar in a column.
  • Gives a cloned or pasted element its own HTML ID, and opens a cloned Collapse panel toggle.
  • Lets Ctrl+C and Ctrl+D copy and clone sections and rows too.
  • Lists every class under HTML classes and marks a row's custom layout in its layout dialog.
  • Names the row's grid icon Column layout in its tooltip.
  • Lists every template when a profile's Check/Uncheck all box for templates is ticked.
  • Starts Parallax speed at 20 when you choose Parallax image.
  • Honours an Appear boundary of 0 on published pages, and shows a Link button with Outline style as a link.
  • Saves the result of Edit with AI on a Text element, and keeps the page still while you type in a dialog's text editor, when you save a dialog and after Add Section Below.
  • Product key: a new key re-syncs editors, an invalid key or a Key that holds none is refused, and Key module storage keeps the key out of the settings.
  • Applies profiles in Weight order, shows the licence card once and confirms Save settings.
  • Removes the unused PathsForm and two unrouted PageController methods.

3.0.0-beta20 (2026-08-24)

  • Adds Modern and Accordion Tabs styles and an optional description below each tab title.
  • Adds trigger animations to Tabs and Collapsibles.
  • Adds a type option to the Jumbotron element.
  • Aligns button placement and labels across the editor's dialogs.

3.0.0-beta19 (2026-08-10)

  • Adds smart sorting of container elements through the RL module.
  • Fixes smooth scrolling on themes where the body is the scroll container.

3.0.0-beta18 (2026-08-06)

  • Adds Blockquote and Preformatted to the heading dropdown.
  • Replaces the social links code editor with a form rows widget.
  • Compresses undo history and preserves element IDs across undo and redo.

3.0.0-beta17 (2026-07-29)

  • Adds an extensible icon set registry for custom icon sets.
  • Adds responsive breakpoints to the multi-item carousel.
  • Translates AI tone-of-voice and command terms on multilingual sites.

3.0.0-beta16 (2026-07-25)

  • Fixes carousel dot counts for the frames-per-slide setting.
  • Prevents the content migration from changing the text format on non-builder fields.

3.0.0-beta15 (2026-07-21)

  • Raises the Drupal requirement to Drupal 10.1 or 11.
  • Batches element control positioning for smoother editing.
  • Adds a tone of voice template preview to the AI settings.

3.0.0-beta14 (2026-07-08)

  • Improves frontend performance with content-visibility, native animations, deferred editor scripts and font preloading.
  • Enables render caching for users who are not editors.
  • Adds entity link suggestions with autocomplete in link fields.

3.0.0-beta13 (2026-07-01)

  • Adds drag-and-drop file upload from the desktop onto the canvas.
  • Adds Media Library support to the local video element.
  • Adds an A/B test suggestion chip to AI Chat.

3.0.0-beta12 (2026-06-08)

  • Renders markdown in AI chat responses.
  • Updates CKEditor to 47.6.2 and upgrades AI image generation to a newer image model.
  • Fixes the row layout grid showing equal-width columns for every preset.

3.0.0-beta11 (2026-06-02)

  • Adds a conversational AI Chat mode.
  • Applies design updates from the Figma design system.

3.0.0-beta10 (2026-05-22)

  • Adds Show IDs and Collapse All toggles to the layers panel.
  • Fixes Row and Carousel controls flickering.

3.0.0-beta9 (2026-05-21)

  • Updates the box model and control design.
  • Allows reparenting elements by sorting in the layers panel.

3.0.0-beta8 (2026-05-20)

  • Improves layers panel search and toolbar.
  • Fixes controls appearing in stale positions after a viewport resize.

3.0.0-beta7 (2026-05-20)

  • Adds Layers mode with a layers panel and compact controls.

3.0.0-beta6 (2026-05-19)

  • Bug fixes.

3.0.0-beta5 (2026-05-19)

  • Replaces the preview button with a view mode dropdown that remembers the chosen mode.
  • Strips runtime-only attributes and classes from saved HTML.

3.0.0-beta4 (2026-05-18)

  • Removes the jQuery and jQuery UI dependencies.
  • Migrates the AI integration to the Drupal AI module with the ai_provider_dxpr provider, and adds WebMCP agent tools.
  • Adds A/B testing through the RL module, a redesigned elements modal and frames-per-slide carousels.

3.0.0-beta3 (2026-04-21)

  • Preserves relative URLs in element attributes.
  • Enforces view display access in embedded views.

3.0.0-beta2 (2026-04-06)

  • Fixes full-width sections that use legacy container classes.

3.0.0-beta1 (2026-03-30)

Collects the 3.0.0-alpha work (2024-01-15 to 2026-03-26). Compared with 2.x it:

  • Stores content as clean Bootstrap 5 HTML and drops Bootstrap 3 support.
  • Removes jQuery from most editor code and updates CKEditor 5 to version 47.
  • Adds AI image generation and editing, Bootstrap Icons, Font Awesome Regular icons and Bootstrap 5.3 utility classes.
  • Adds central keyboard shortcuts plus Move Up and Move Down controls.

Checking your version

To see the version you run:

drush pm:list --filter=dxpr_builder --format=table

Packaged releases also state it as version in dxpr_builder.info.yml. Drupal's update manager at /admin/reports/updates lists newer releases.
