Keep your editors within your licence
Every account that may edit with DXPR Builder uses a licence, even if it never opens the editor. This page helps you keep that number within your plan: give editing to the right roles, check usage and free licences you no longer need. Use it when the editor warns about too few licences or when someone leaves your team.
Before you start
- Your product key is saved under General settings.
- You have the Administer DXPR Builder configuration permission.
How licences are counted
- Every account with the Edit with DXPR Builder permission counts. Blocked accounts and excluded accounts do not.
- An account counts once per email address, across all your sites. Changing the email address of an account removes the old address from your licence.
- User 1, the account created during installation, is never stopped by the user limit. On the free tier it is the only account that can edit.
Set up
- Go to People > Permissions
(
/admin/people/permissions) and give Edit with DXPR Builder only to the roles that build pages. - Go to People (
/admin/people) and read the DXPR Builder User column: Yes marks each account that uses a licence on this site. - Go to DXPR Studio > DXPR Builder >
User Licenses
(
/admin/dxpr_studio/dxpr_builder/user_licenses) and compare Licenses used with your limit. - Exclude the accounts that no longer edit, as described in User licences.
- Click Delete license data for people who no longer edit on any of your sites. The link shows only for addresses without an account on this site, and it removes the address from all sites.
What you see
The User Licenses tab opens with a box named after your tier, such as DXPR user licensing (Enterprise). It shows the number of DXPR Builder users and the Licenses used against your limit, for example 3/10. The table below lists every editor of every site that uses your product key.
A licence assigned in the last 30 days cannot be excluded yet: the Operations column shows "Can be excluded in N days". An excluded user frees the licence after 30 days. When a licence is about to become free, the tab shows "Next license available on" with the date.
If you don't see the change
- The editor warns about "insufficient User licenses". More accounts have the permission than your subscription covers. Exclude users on the User Licenses tab or add users to your subscription at dxpr.com.
- An excluded user still counts. Excluded users free their licence after 30 days. Check the date next to "Next license available on".
- A user who never edits uses a licence. Every account with Edit with DXPR Builder counts. Remove the role from the account at People, or exclude it.
- The table lists people you do not know. The tab shows editors of every site that uses your product key. Click the Sites link of a user to see where they edit.
- New subscription limits do not show yet. Your
site reads the limits from dxpr.com once a day.
Click Clear all caches at Configuration >
Development > Performance
(
/admin/config/development/performance) to read them now.
