Adding a Text element
You get formatted copy on your page: headings, paragraphs, lists, links and images. Use it for any body text, and edit it right on the page or in the settings dialog.

Add a text element
Open your page while logged in: the builder controls appear when you hover the content area. Your first page shows the basics.
- Hover the column and click + in its control bar, or click Add Elements on an empty page. Open the Content tab and click Text. It lands at the top of the column and its settings dialog opens.
- In the Text editor, select the placeholder text and type your heading over it.
- Select the heading line and choose Heading 2 from the heading list in the toolbar.
- Press Enter, type a paragraph, then select the call to action and click Bold.
- Click Save in the dialog. Then click Save in the toolbar at the top of the content area to store the page.
What you see
Your heading and paragraph appear in the column with the formatting you chose. In the video, a Heading 2 title sits above a paragraph that ends in a bold call to action. The AI command at the end of the video is optional, and Set up explains it. Visitors see it once you save the page and it is published.
Set up your text element
Hover the element and open More > Settings in its control bar. Options:
- Text: the content, in a full editor. By default its toolbar has headings, bold and italic, lists, links, images, tables, block quotes and source editing. Your user profile can change these buttons.
Use the list, link and image buttons in that toolbar to add bullets, links and pictures. You can also click the text on the page and edit it there, with a shorter toolbar.
To ask the AI for help, click into the text on the page and type / with an instruction, such as /write next sentence. Press Enter and the AI writes in place. AI text commands lists the commands in the toolbar.
If you don't see it
- Text is not in the Content tab. Your user profile hides it. Ask an administrator to enable it in User Profiles.
- It is gone after you reload. The page was not saved. Add it again and click Save in the toolbar at the top of the content area.
- The element is blank. No content has been entered yet. Click the text area on the page to start typing, or hover the element and open More > Settings for the full editor.
- Formatting looks different from the editor. Your theme may override heading sizes or list styles. Ask your developer to adjust the theme CSS, as the custom CSS guide shows.
