Try DXPR Builder with demo pages

Explore DXPR Builder on pages that are already built before you make your own. You can use the hosted demo, the demo pages that come with DXPR CMS, or the QA demo recipe on a test site. There is no separate "simple demo" package; this page covers all three.

I want to ... Use Needs
try the editor without installing anything The hosted demo A browser
start a real site that has a few example pages DXPR CMS demo pages A new DXPR CMS site
check every element on a development site The QA demo recipe A development site with DXPR CMS

The hosted demo

try.dxpr.com is the live demo linked from the module README. Nothing is installed on your side. A demo stays active while you use it and is removed after 6 hours without activity, so do not keep work there.

DXPR CMS demo pages

DXPR CMS imports three Landing Page items during installation: Home, Page and Contact Us. It makes /home the front page and grants Edit with DXPR Builder to the content administrator, site builder and content editor roles. Follow Start a new site with DXPR CMS; there is no separate demo step.

Apply the QA demo recipe

The module includes a Drupal recipe at recipes/dxpr_builder_qa_demo, named DXPR Builder QA Demo Content. It installs dxpr_builder_block, sets the front page to /tour and imports 75 Landing Page items. The blocks, media, files and menu links they use come with them. Each page shows one feature: an element, a section background, Drupal blocks and views, templates or translation.

The demo pages need the Landing Page content type with its field_content field and the Image media type, as DXPR CMS has them. Apply the recipe to a development site, never to production: it replaces your front page.

  1. From your project root, apply the recipe. Adjust the path if your modules live elsewhere:

    bash drush recipe:apply web/modules/contrib/dxpr_builder/recipes/dxpr_builder_qa_demo

  2. Rebuild the caches:

    bash drush cache:rebuild

  3. Open the front page of the site.

What you see

The front page shows the Tour page, which opens with "Meet DXPR Builder". Log in with an account that has Edit with DXPR Builder and hover a demo page to show its control bars. Open More on an element and choose Settings to see how it is set up. The demo pages are ordinary content: edit, unpublish or delete them under Content.

If you don't see the demo pages

  • The recipe stops with an error before it imports anything. The site lacks the Landing Page content type or the Image media type that the demo pages use. Apply the recipe on a DXPR CMS site.
  • Drush says the command "recipe:apply" is not defined. Recipes need Drupal 10.3 or later. Update Drupal core, then apply the recipe again.
  • The front page still shows your old home page. The page cache still holds it. Run drush cache:rebuild and reload.
  • The demo pages show no control bars. Your role lacks Edit with DXPR Builder. Grant it at People > Permissions (/admin/people/permissions).
