Adding a Block quote
You get a styled quotation with the name of the speaker below it. Use it for customer testimonials, expert opinions or pull quotes in long articles.

Add a block quote
Open your page while logged in: the builder controls appear when you hover the content area. Your first page shows the basics.
- Hover the column and click + in its control bar, or click Add Elements on an empty page. Open the Content tab and click Block quote. It lands at the top of the column and its settings dialog opens.
- Replace the placeholder in Text with your quotation.
- Fill in Cite with the name and role of the person, for example Maria Lopez, Head of Marketing, Northwind Retail.
- Click Save in the dialog. Then click Save in the toolbar at the top of the content area to store the page.
What you see
The quote you typed appears as a styled block quote, with your Cite text on a line below it. In the video, that line names Maria Lopez and her role. Visitors see it once you save the page and it is published.
Set up your block quote
Hover the element and open More > Settings in its control bar. Options:
- Text: the quotation. Use the editor toolbar for bold, italic or links.
- Cite: the line below the quote, such as a name and role or a source. The style puts a dash in front of it, so do not type one.
- Reverse: aligns the quote and the citation to the right.
You can also click the quote on the page and edit its text in place. The Cite line changes only in the settings.
If you don't see it
- Block quote is not in the Content tab. Your user profile hides it. Ask an administrator to tick Blockquote under Elements in User Profiles.
- It is gone after you reload. The page was not saved. Add it again and click Save in the toolbar at the top of the content area.
- The quote area is blank. The Text field is empty. Click the quote on the page, or hover the element and open More > Settings, and type your quote.
- No name appears under the quote. The Cite field is empty. Hover the element and open More > Settings, then fill in Cite.
- The quote sits on the right. Reverse is on. Hover the element and open More > Settings, then switch Reverse off.
