Move from another builder
You can bring existing pages into DXPR Builder 3.x. How much work that takes depends on where the pages come from. Pick the row that matches your site.
| I want to ... | Use | Needs |
|---|---|---|
| upgrade a site that runs DXPR Builder 1.x or 2.x | From DXPR Builder 1.x or 2.x | Composer and drush updatedb |
| move pages built with Layout Builder | From Layout Builder | Manage display access; pages are rebuilt by hand |
| move pages built with Paragraphs | From Paragraphs | Manage fields access; pages are rebuilt by hand or with Drush |
Which should I use
An upgrade from DXPR Builder 1.x or 2.x converts your content in place. The update rewrites old markup. You rebuild nothing by hand.
Layout Builder and Paragraphs store pages in a different structure. No tool converts them: you rebuild each page in DXPR Builder, or, for Paragraphs, write prepared HTML into many pages with Drush. Both guides keep the old page visible while you work, so nothing goes offline. Start with a page that many others resemble and save it as a template for the rest.
What's next?
Install DXPR Builder if it is not on your site yet.
