CKEditor text editor
DXPR Builder uses CKEditor 5 for all formatted text. This page shows where the editor appears, which buttons you get by default, and how an administrator changes them. The toolbar comes from DXPR Builder, not from Drupal's text formats.
Where the editor appears
| Where you edit | Toolbar |
|---|---|
| Text, Block quote and Alert on the page | the inline toolbar |
| Formatted text fields in a settings dialog | the modal toolbar, with more buttons |
| Button labels and progress bar labels on the page | no toolbar: you type plain text in place |
| Tab subtitles on the page | Bold and Italic only |
Click into the text to start; see Inline text editing.
Default toolbars
Without a user profile, editors get these buttons:
| Toolbar | Buttons |
|---|---|
| Inline | Bold, Italic, Remove format, heading list, Styles, bullet and numbered lists, Link, Image, Table, Undo, Redo |
| Modal | the inline set plus Underline, Strike through, Superscript, Subscript, Text color, Font size, the four alignments, Outdent, Indent, Block quote, Horizontal rule, Character map, Source code and Show blocks |
The heading list offers Normal, Heading 1 to Heading 6, Preformatted, Address and Normal (Div).
Change the buttons
A user profile sets both toolbars for the roles it
covers. Open DXPR Studio > DXPR Builder >
User Profiles (/admin/dxpr_studio/dxpr_builder/profile),
edit the profile, and tick buttons under Text
editor buttons (inline editing) and Text editor
buttons (modal editing). A list left empty keeps
the default toolbar above.
The Styles dropdown shows the styles you list under Custom styles. You find that box in the General settings. See Text editor for the format.
AI buttons
With Enable text editing assistant ticked under DXPR Studio > DXPR Builder > AI, the toolbars start with AI Assistant and AI Tone of Voice. A profile can leave them out like any other button. See AI text commands.
If you don't see a button
- A button is missing from the toolbar. The user profile for your role does not tick it. Tick it in the profile's text editor buttons.
- The AI buttons are missing. The text editing
assistant is off, or your profile leaves the
buttons out. Tick Enable text editing
assistant at
/admin/dxpr_studio/dxpr_builder/ai_settings. - Changing the text format did not change the toolbar. DXPR Builder ignores the CKEditor settings of Drupal's text formats. Use a user profile instead.
