Sites clone¶
Sites clone creates a new site from an existing one: the source's site type, settings and per-site configuration, its content by a clone method per content type, and the links of its per-site menus. Platform administrators use it to start a brand or country site from one that already runs, like the valve brand Velmora cloned from Hydrion: Velmora starts with its own copies of About Hydrion and Contact, to rewrite, and none of Hydrion's articles.
Install¶
A project of its own, drupal.org/project/sites_clone:
composer require drupal/sites_clone
drush en sites_clone
Requires Sites, Sites menu, Sites UI.
Configure¶
Each site's Cloning rules section, a card in the Settings group of its dashboard, holds a clone method per content type (Ignore content, Share content or Clone content) and whether a clone copies the menu links. The clone form starts from these rules. The site type's settings matrix sets their defaults; without one, content is ignored and menu links are copied.
Steps, the clone methods and what a clone gets: Clone a site.
