Edit your site via chat.

Use the same AI chat interface you've become familiar with to edit your entire site's content and configuration.

For Drupal 11.3+ ยท PHP 8.3+

Workflow shown in the video

A chat creates a Basic page as a draft. The draft is previewed, changed in the same chat, and published from its card. Adding the page to the main navigation goes live at once, so the menu link waits for approval before it is saved.

On Drupal standard, with configuration writes allowed, a Site builder chat creates a Workshop content type, adds its fields, orders its edit form, and sets how a Workshop shows on its page and in teasers. Each change shows its configuration as a diff and waits for approval. Between the changes, a Workshop is created with the new form and shown before and after the display changes. The time spent waiting on the model is shortened in the video.

Content editors and site administrators can use the Site Agent to simplify their workflows and modify the website via LLM. Site Agent integrates with Drupal's existing permission sets and other AI modules to expose a simple chat window that allows people of any technical ability to manage even the most complex websites.

Requirements

  • Drupal core ^11.3 || ^12, and PHP 8.3 (Drupal 12 needs 8.5). On Drupal 12, AI and Tool API must first release versions that declare it.
  • AI ^1.5.
  • Tool API 1.0.0-beta11 or later.
  • Tool Belt 1.0.0-alpha6 or later, whose tool_belt_content submodule is enabled with this module, along with Node and Media. The shipped Editor and Site builder toolsets use them.
  • A private file system ($settings['file_private_path']) for images uploaded in the chat. See Chat.
  • An AI provider module that returns streamed tool calls. See Providers for the ones checked.
  • Optional: Content Deployment 1.0.x with its content_deployment_tools submodule, whose content spec tools the Editor toolset prefers; and its content_deployment_export submodule on development sites, for staging. Site Agent depends on nothing inside it.
  • Optional, for remote clients: MCP Server 2.0.0-beta5 or later, with mcp/sdk 0.8.1 or later, for the Site Agent MCP submodule; and MCP Server OAuth for clients that sign in with OAuth, such as Claude. See Remote clients.
  • Optional: AI Context 1.0.0-rc1 or later, for the Site Agent AI Context submodule. See Site context.

To install Site Agent and write a first draft with it, see Install and first draft.
