Installation
Install the theme
composer require drupal/maya
drush theme:enable maya
drush config:set system.theme default maya
Or go to Appearance, find Maya under Uninstalled themes and choose Install and set as default.
Default blocks
Enabling Maya places these blocks:
| Block | Region |
|---|---|
| Site branding | Header |
| Main navigation (two levels) | Primary menu |
| Search form | Header utilities |
| Language switcher | Header utilities |
| Status messages | Highlighted |
| Breadcrumbs | Breadcrumb |
| Page title, tabs, local actions | Above content |
| Help | Help |
| Main page content | Content |
| Footer menu | Footer |
| User account menu, Powered by Drupal | Footer bottom |
Blocks that need a module (Search, Language, Help) are placed only if that module is enabled when Maya is installed. To place them later, go to Structure > Block layout > Maya.
Logo and site name
The header shows the logo from Appearance > Settings > Maya, followed by the site name in Roboto Slab. The footer repeats both; an SVG logo is drawn in white, other images keep their colors. Use a square logo; it is shown 26px high on phones and 40px on desktops.
Theme settings
| Setting | Default |

| Show the San Francisco skyline at the bottom of the footer | On |
Fonts
The maya/fonts library loads Roboto Flex, Roboto Slab and Roboto Mono from Google Fonts. To host the fonts yourself, disable it in a sub-theme and load your own copies:
