Field configuration

Each path has a Configure Field form (/admin/config/wisski/pathbuilder/{pathbuilder}/field_config/{path}). Its select decides which Drupal field the path fills:

  • Create a new field for this path: offered while the path has no field in its bundle. Choose the field type, widget and formatter. Leave the ID empty to generate one.
  • Change field type: offered instead when the path already has a field. Choose the new field type, widget and formatter. The field keeps its ID and help text.
  • An existing field of the bundle: connects the path to that field and keeps that field's type, widget and formatter.
  • Do not connect a field: the path gets no field.

The pathbuilder applies the choice on Save and generate bundles and fields. A field whose stored type differs from the chosen one is deleted and recreated with the new type. Its help text is carried over. The field values themselves live in the triplestore and are not deleted.
