Generate with AI¶
The optional ai_transcribe module uses Drupal AI for provider discovery and configuration.
Enable and configure¶
Install the dependencies from modules/ai_transcribe/composer.json in your site’s Composer project, then enable ai_transcribe. Configure a Drupal AI provider capable of the speech-to-text operation and keep its credentials in provider configuration and Drupal Key.
Create an execution profile through the module’s configuration interface. A profile selects the provider and model, connector and result normalizer, required capabilities, safe provider options, and bounded input/retry/retention limits.
Profiles can require word timestamps and speaker diarization. Results must supply the requested evidence to satisfy the profile.
Submit and review¶
Use the generation form at /media/{media}/transcribe for an eligible source Media entity. The job status appears at /admin/content/transcription-jobs/{job}.
Modules can add per-recording key terms, expected speakers and a spoken language to each job. The job page lists the context that was sent; see per-recording context.
Jobs retain profile snapshots, check source changes and requester access, and keep late results separate from later editorial revisions. A generated draft requires the same text, speaker, and timing review as an imported transcript.
Run workers¶
Run Drupal cron regularly or process due jobs with Drush:
Authenticated callbacks wake jobs; workers poll the provider for authoritative results. Scheduled polling also recovers when a callback is missed.
Disable Use webhook for local or private sites that a provider cannot reach. Jobs then use polling without creating a callback URL or secret.
Raw provider results use the profile’s retention limit and are accessible only to authorized job requesters and administrators.
