Mentoring T-shirts

For mentoring events, it is desirable for all the mentors to wear the same t-shirt that stands out from the regular event t-shirts so they can be identified during the events, so that attendees can look to them for advice.

The usual process is to use the normal event t-shirt design, and print it on green t-shirts, with ‘mentor’ written on a sleeve or some other visible area.

Custom Design

In some circumstances a separate design is required and if this is the case, the mentoring team need to be told ahead of time using the timeline from the timeline document to have the time to create the design. In this case the mentoring team will require information regarding the t-shirt material colour, the number of inks, the printable areas of the shirt and the format of the files required for the printer.

Number of t-shirts and sizes

Due to the way that mentors join the event, it is not always known exactly how many t-shirts are needed ahead of time in specific sizes. This is because whilst a lot of the mentors are involved in the monthly meetings beforehand, some sign up during the event.

The number of t-shirts is unrelated to the number of free tickets that the mentors receive.

Usually the mentoring leadership can come up with an estimated number but the default would be 25.

In terms of sizes, the breakdown would be as follows:

Europe:

  • S: 10%
  • M: 50%
  • L: 20%
  • XL: 10%
  • 2XL: 10%

USA:

T-shirt Distribution

The t-shirts are distributed during contrib day or shortly before, by the mentoring team. The event organisers must coordinate with the mentoring team (usually one of the mentoring team will be looking for them first thing) to get the box of t-shirts taken care of.

Please do not distribute t-shirts during registration
