How project moderators handle reports of abandoned projects
This documentation page is for project moderators. It is not intended for people who report unsupported/abandoned projects.
When a report for unsupported/abandoned projects is created in the Drupal.org project maintainership queue, project moderators will:
- Verify the issue contains the link to the project and to the issue created in the project issue queue.
- Verify the link for the issue in the project queue is for an issue which was kept in the project issue queue at least fourteen (14) days.
- Verify the issue created in the project issue queue contains the project name in the title.
- Verify that the person who posted the issue in the Drupal.org project maintainership queue is the person who created the issue in the project issue queue.
- Verify there are not requests to become owner, maintainer, or co-maintainer for the same project; those requests should be handled first.
- Verify the project is effectively abandoned/unsupported by checking the project page and the project issue queue.
- Check whether the project maintainers are still active on drupal.org, by either looking at when the last comment or post was created or at the last time the user logged in on drupal.org. If the project maintainers are still active on drupal.org, contact them; after fourteen (14) days without any reply, the project will be marked unsupported.
If those points are verified, the project will be marked abandoned. The project page will be edited to contain the following warning, where <date> is the date of the project page edit, and <issue> is the link to the issue requiring the project to be marked abandoned.
<div class="messages warning">
