Settings and permissions¶
Permissions¶
| Permission | Allows |
|---|---|
| Create file shares | Share files the account can download, and edit and revoke its own shares |
| Administer file shares | Act on every share, revoke across the site, and change settings |
| View file share activity | See sign-ins, downloads and refusals for shares the account can edit |
Recipients need no permission.
Settings¶
Configuration › Media › File Share:
| Setting | Default |
|---|---|
| Sign-in lasts (days) | 90. Each day of use extends it. |
| Keep activity for (days) | 90 |
| File types that can be uploaded into a share | pdf, Office and OpenDocument formats, rtf, txt, csv, zip, common images, mp3, mp4, mov |
Email templates¶
Four emails can be edited on the same page:
| Template | Goes to | When |
|---|---|---|
| Sign-in code | The recipient | They ask for a code |
| Invitation | The new recipient | Staff add them with invitations on, or a recipient invites them |
| First download | The issuer | A recipient downloads a file for the first time, if the share asks for it |
| Invitation by a recipient | The issuer | A recipient invites someone, if the share asks for it |
Emails come from the site's address, with Reply-To set to the issuer or to the recipient who sent the invitation. Templates use these tokens, plus site tokens such as [site:name]:
[file-share:title], [file-share:message], [file-share:url], [file-share:inviter], [file-share:recipient], [file-share:file], [file-share:code], [file-share:sign-in-url]
Not every token has a value in every email.
Cron¶
Cron deletes sign-in tokens that expired over a day ago, sessions that ended over 30 days ago, and activity older than the retention period. drush file-share:purge does the same on demand.
