Set up Drupal CMS

Let's walk through the Drupal CMS setup process.

The first screen of the installer, showing where you can enter basic information about your site.

Enter a name for your site or keep the provided default name. This name will be displayed in the header area of the default theme. You will be able to update the site name later.

The second screen of the installer, showing where you can select which site template to start with.

Choose your site template. If you select Starter, you won't get much out of the box, but can build what you need. Byte is a site template that provides functionality based on a SaaS product marketing website. (Drupal CMS only includes these two site templates, but there are more to come!)

The third screen of the installer, where you can create an account.

Enter an email address and password to create the account you will use to administer your site. You'll be able to invite colleagues to create their own accounts later, after you've moved your site from your computer to a hosting provider where they can access it, too.

The last screen of the installer, once the progress bar finishes you will be taken to your dashboard.

After running the setup process, you'll be directed to the Dashboard. See the Top tasks to get started building your new site!
