Adding functionality with recommended add-ons

Recommended add-ons allow you to add functionality to your site preconfigured with smart defaults, which you can modify as you wish. You can find them under Extend > Recommended (admin/modules/browse/recommended). Different site templates provide different recommended add-ons, based on the use case.

Recommended add-ons are an automated way to quickly add functionality to your site by installing modules and applying preconfigured settings. It might prompt you to provide information to complete the configuration, for example, an API key or identifier. It may also include demo content which demonstrates the newly installed add-on.

Once the add-on has been installed, you can update any of the settings to meet your requirements.

Add new features with recommended add-ons by locating them in the Extend > Recommended (admin/modules/browse/recommended) area and then installing them.

  1. Navigate to Extend > Recommended (/admin/modules/browse/recommended).
  2. For each add-on you want to apply, select the Install button. The recommended add-on will be installed and its configuration applied to your existing site.
